Out of Sight
I guess when you don’t see me, when I am out of sight
You think that everything with me is all right
I’m just a passing thought sometimes
You may think of day or night
And then you say a little prayer for my current plight
Do you say to yourself
“She doesn’t need me at all,
so why bother her with an inquiring call,
someone else will be there to catch her if she falls,
I’m sure she doesn’t need me at all.”
As though you think the prayer is all it takes
To make things better, to make things great
If not you, then who for goodness sake,
Who would do God’s work while you wait
Waiting on what?
To be a friend
Waiting till my troubling times comes to an end
Because if you don’t see me,
If I’m out of sight
One could only assume that I am all right
