Invisible

You walk right by me

Like if I’m not there

Looking straight ahead

As though am not near

Can’t you see I’m standing here?

I’m right next to you

Am I invisible, camouflaged or see-through?

What’s going on?

Where did common courtesy go?

Why do we ignore each other?

I just don’t know

A simple smile; hello; how do you do

Howdy; heya; what’s happening with you

Any kind of acknowledgement will do

I must admit I am also guilty of saying nothing

when others pass me by

I don’t want it to be that way

But this is the reason why

These days I am afraid to speak

And hear silence in return

I don’t want to be ignored

But the old time way I yearn

I missed the days when we showed respect to our fellow man

We greeted each other with kind courtesy

This is God’s plan

“Hello, how do you do?”

is my way of saying

I see you

His Word:

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

Matthew 12:7 NIV
